Family-friendly attractions in St. Petersburg
We present our “Top 5” family attractions
Happylon (“Pirate’s Park”) – a gigantic family leisure center, situated in the core of the city (Shopping Center Galeria, nearby Moskovskiy Railway Station). The vast area (4 500 square meters), full of great variety of amusement machines and other popular attractions: trickish labyrinth, merry-go-rounds, swings, bumper cars for kids, simulation video games, slot machines and amusement arcade with games for every taste and budget. Happylon entertainers would take care of your kids, inviting them into activities, and you’ll have a chance to enjoy shopping in the biggest shopping center of St. Petersburg.
Grand Maket Russia (National Show-Museum) – a private interactive museum that would certainly impress visitors of any age! Such a project is the first in Russia, and the second in the world. Situated not far from the city center – it is fifteen-minute walk from metro station “Moskovskiye Vorota”, Tsvetochnaya street. Grand Maket is an attempt to present Russia in miniature: its regions, beauty of the main cities and different geographical areas, in reduced view (at a scale of 1:87). A lot of detailed scenes of everyday life are displayed on the area of 800 square meters: workers at factories, sportsmen at competitions, political demonstration, travelers, policemen, soldiers, animals in the woods, pets in the yards, kids, flowers, flying saucer… And trains! :) The visitors are allowed to put into operation several mini-scenarios – there are special buttons across the maquette. We assure you – you would not stop taking pictures!
Oceanarium is a large-scale aquarium, presenting marine animals. To be precise – 41 aquarium (1.5 million litres of water) with more than 5 000 000 species of fishes and invertebrates, on the area of 5000 square meters. Oceanarium is divided into several areas: North-West of Russia, tropical forests, rocky coast, coral reef, marine mammals and “the way to the ocean”. Every day you have a chance to watch feeding and special shows with trained sharks and sea dogs. It is easy to find this popular place in the leisure center "Planeta Neptun", and if there is no rain in St. Petersburg (J), it is pleasant to walk along Marata street from Nevsky prospect to this center.
In the same leisure center you’d find a special attraction for brave people – St. Petersburg Horrors, a mixture of horror, your fears, nightmares and fantasies. Thirteen (!) halls, arranged as a labyrinth. Each hall with its unique theme and mythology. Characters by Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Dostoevsky, Nikolay Gogol and real historical characters would come to life and tell you their stories. The main idea of the project – to reconstruct the atmosphere of the past, and involve the visitors into historical anecdotes and legends of our city.
There is a special building in Bolshaya Morskaya street – several amazing projects in the same place: Giant’s House, Museum of Illusions, Butterfly Garden, Glass Maze and Contact Zoo. No one feel bored at the Museum of optical illusions, the biggest one in Europe. Try an exciting trip to the world of emotions and new impressions in Glass Maze, the first in Russia. Giant’s House will just amaze you: it is something completely unusual – to feel yourself such an ant. In Butterfly Garden you’d certainly forget that you are in the city – with all these flying beauties around you. Feel free to stroke animals in the Contact Zoo, feed them and take photos with them. This place is designed especially for up-close interactions. Such a place in the very center of St. Petersburg – a good chance to make lots of discoveries together with your kids.
